Im not looking on how to propose or where cause I already go that down. What I need to know is how can I propose to my girlfriend and give her the ring during the proposal without taking her to the Jewlery store to get her sized and pick out the ring. I want it to be as much as a surprise as possilble?

My significant other and I have been discussing marriage for a year now and have been ring shopping a few times. I want something basic, he wants to spend a lot- I’m hoping for a compromise on that.

However, I know he’s most nervous about the proposal. A few of my friends had very elaborate planned proposals and, probably mostly my fault due to telling their stories several times, he thinks he has to live up to it. I told him many times it doesn’t have to be fancy, just thoughtful…. I bought a house last fall and want to get a doggie but haven’t yet- if he just got me a dog with a ring tied on the collar, that would be perfect to me.

Anyone have any stories about super thoughtful or unique proposals? Or any ideas for one? Anything works- if I get some good answers I’ll foward the link for the question to him to read them

My boyfriend and I have been together for a few years now and have been talking about getting married for a long time. I’ve brought up the topic of marriage several times, maybe too many times, but I honestly think it’s time to really get serious about it. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can give him a not-so-obvious hint as to get him on the ball about asking me to be his wife? I know he doesn’t have the money to buy me a ring right now and I don’t need one, however, he said he wants to do it right by giving me a ring I deserve and I don’t know if I can wait. I love him entirely and want to begin planning to be his wife even if I have to wait a year or two for the wedding. Just a proposal would be nice to know he’s on the same page as me. Please, if anyone has any ideas on how to drop a hint or two, let me know. I’d really appreciate it.
He is expected to start his career this upcoming summer and will be leaving for a really long traingin period that will take several months. After the training, he may have to leave staright for work in another state immediately, we’re not sure yet. I’m supposed to move in with him when I graduate next May. I would just like to have an idea about when we could start planning on getting married when things settle down. Right now, I just don’t have substantial answers. It would be nice to be engaged, knowing we are on the track to be married, even if the wedding has to wait for a couple of years.

My husband and I are trying to open a trading card store mainly MTG, we are working on a proposal to take it to the bank and I am drawing a blank on how to write this proposal, I have searched the web and everything I have found as a guideline cost money. Any clue where I could start?

So, I’m a Martial Artist, and I have a lady whom I will be proposing too, finally, after 3 years of knowing…

She has, jokingly, said before; she demands that I do all sorts of kicks, and flips, and rolls; landing in front of her, with hand out and ring in hand, as my proposal necessities. I laugh, she laughs…

But I have gotten to the point, where I think I might actually try to do that. Only problem is, I’ve got nowhere that I could do that in person with her there, without it being very suspicious…

My plan is to have gloves, my gi (the martial arts uniform), and foot guards on; and perform my own, personally created, form. The gloves will have something on them that says "The slayers" and the foot guards will have "The breakers" on them.

My goal is to use my feet to take out two people wearing shirts that say "Boundaries" and "Barriers", using "The Breakers". And the last opponent will be wearing a shirt that says "Heart", and I have to use my "Slayers" to attack him. All the while, wearing my gi that says "Love" on it.

So I will be using our Love to break boundaries and barriers, in order to slay her heart…

I planned to get all of this on video, then play it while we’re over at a friends house, with lots of people around. Then, the last movement of the form is a forward roll onto one knee. Then I will say "Now that I have used our love to break down the boundaries and barriers of life, and slayed your heart, will you marry me?"

I also plan on having the video highlight old movies of us together, and pictures, playing to "our" song before the form is shown.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Sound good?
We’re a little on the cooky side I guess. I have said to her plenty of times, I slay her heart daily. She seems to like it…

I doubt she would say no, at this point. She has already talked about marriage, asked for a ring, somewhat jokingly, and told me which rings she likes…

Eric H - I like your idea, but I doubt the club would ever let me do it. I would have to sign all sorts of papers, and go to all sorts of drastic measures to get it put together. They would probably just tell me to go away, unless I was going to pay them a crap load of money…

Perhaps some bozo at the club would try and step in. Who knows… I think there’s one too many variables in that one. I do like it a lot though… I could definitely envision it. Perhaps some other time down the road, I will have better means to do that route… lol…

I don’t really care about how people think she will react. I am here to see if there’s that strange answer that has a point to it, that I had not thought of already. Checking with strangers, friends, fools, and sages; to see if I’ve got my ground covered.

I’m writing my proposal for my research class, and I’m having trouble coming up with exactly what part of the airline industry I’d like to study. I have to have an emphasis on sociology, and I was hoping for an idea, or question to study that incorporated the airport as well… If you have any ideas topics or suggestions I’d really appreciate it if you could share.
Perhaps something to study regarding the relationship between carriers and the airport…

Well, let’s get to the point, I’m not exactly the most creative person in the world. I already googled ideas but none of them really suited me. I just want to have a proposal that is as special as she is.

Please don’t suggest taking her to a fancy restaurant, she’s not into that type of stuff.

Okay, I’m 16, so I’m not going to be getting married anytime soon. But I read this article on the best and worst marriage proposals of this year. I personally want a memorable and special proposal, so I thought of this. Tell me what you think of it.

I would make a CD with all of our favorite songs. I would tell her to go to a certain song that actually has a recording of me telling her about the relationship like, "We’ve gone through the good and the bad, we’ve laughed and cried together" and whatever else. Then it says, "… so I ask you…" then I take out a ring and ask, "Will you marry me?" and the next song is her personal favorite song.

What do you think of it? Too cheesy? Good? Bad? It was just something I thought of when I was on a bike ride earlier today.
Oh yeah, and no one use it! I copyrighted it… after I finished my bike ride… maybe… lol, jk. But seriously.

so my hunny just mentioned to me that he wants a really nice chess set and so I’m thinking of surprising him with one and now I’m trying to think of ways to include my proposal with it. maybe put the ring around one of the pieces or something idk..I’m kind of set on this idea I just need to figure out how to incorporate it…

I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend this coming Fourth of July. She has always been a fan of fireworks and we both love being outside at night. Fortunately, her town always celebrates the holiday with an incredible fireworks display over the lake and everyone in town gathers to watch it. This means that all her family and friends would be in the area for the proposal. The thing is, I want it to be really special and just asking her while the fireworks are going off isn’t nearly enough. If anyone has any creative, realistic ideas, I would really appreciate it. She is the love of my life and I want this to be something she will remember forever. I want it to be thoughtful, romantic, and extremely special. Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks everyone!
